Electrical fault finding by it's very nature is a process of elimination.
Firstly the customer reporting the fault will be asked some seemingly simple questions such as what happened?, when did it happen? What usually happens? What isn't happening now etc.
Then an inspection will take place looking for signs of wear and tear, mechanical damage to cables or accesories, signs of overheating, corrosion, burning and even listening for strange noises from equipment etc.
If the problem is not evident after the initial visual check then some electrical testing will have to take place in order to find the fault in the hidden cables. This can be a time consuming process and will mean isolation of the supply of electricity to all or part of your property for a time.
Once the fault is identified it can then be rectified. This may mean a new component or accessory or even replacement of the faulty cable.

Once on site if we discover a major fault we will usually make the faulty circuit safe and book a time for repairs.
Some common parts for electrical circuits we hold in stock, however at times we may need to find a supplier and get replacement parts, or even order them which could take a few hours or at the worst a couple of days to obtain the parts before fitting. However be rest assured we are human too, and will ensure that there is some form of power / light available until our return to repair / fit.
When we have completed a periodic inspection report or visual report and have found faults within the system we can give you a quote to rectify these faults. You are by no means obliged to use us for the repairs but most clients find it easier for us to do the work as we have already gained a good working knowledge of their installation and would have a fair idea as to where the fault may lie.
