In the UK, a looped supply to a service head refers to the electrical supply system that serves multiple properties, where the supply cables form a loop around the properties in a network.
The looped supply system typically consists of a main cable that runs along the street or road and branches off into smaller cables that serve individual properties. The supply cables for each property are connected to the looped supply cable and are usually terminated at the electrical service head, which is the point where the electrical supply enters the property from the network.
The looped supply system is commonly used in urban areas, where properties are close together and there is a high demand for electricity. This system allows the electrical network to supply electricity to multiple properties from a single point of connection, reducing the need for multiple connections and making the electrical supply more efficient.

I would highly recommend Karen and her team for any electrical jobs you have. From the moment I first emailed my enquiry the service was super quick (I appreciate this depends on their other jobs at the time). We received a quote that was clear with the works to be done and price was reasonable. On the day the electrician (Joe I believe) turned up on time, did a fab job and even tidied up after himself. I had an emergency situation arising from a constantly tripping appliance. A call to Bright Sparks, who have helped me before, led me to their website’s ‘Knowledge Centre’ and although I’ve used similar help sites before this was excellent – clear, well laid out, and logically organised – and as someone with zero electrical knowledge I managed to find the fault myself! I followed up the situation on the phone and got more advice. Really impressed by the Bright Sparks service and will continue to use them and their Knowledge Centre again in the future.
